Melodias Merlot is an Argentinian full bodied red, full of juicy cherry and raspberry flavours, topped off with a fragrant scattering of spice.

About

The Trapiche winery is based in the Mendoza refion of Argentina, best known for producing magnificent Malbec.

The Merlot grapes are sourced from the high altitude vineyards on the eastern edge of the Mendoza river.

The grapes are hand harvested and destemmed followed by cold maceration prior to fermentation. Selected yeasts are used to start a controlled fermentation which takes place at 23-25ºC for 15 days. The wine has some contact with oak before being stabilised, filtered and bottled.

Serve with meat and vegetable dishes, pasta or semi-hard cheeses such as gouda, edam and gruyere.
