Tasting Notes
Calusari Pinot Rose is very pale in colour with aromas of redcurrants and sweet strawberries. This follows through to the crisp pallet which exudes red berry fruits and a slightly sweet, rosehip and pear finish. A truly scrumptious, dangerously moreish rosé which tastes like a far more expensive wine.
About
The story of the Cramele Recas estate from where the Calusari wines comes is one of real success and achievement, for this was a great estate which went to ruin before Englishman, Philip Cox and his wife performed their magic on it. With a 20 million euro investment, a brand new winery and the recruitment of a top winemaking team from Australia and Spain, the estate has been transformed and is today more like a scene from Tuscany. The results of their efforts is a truly fabulous range of wines which all overdeliver for the price.
This is without doubt one of the best rosé wines on the market. Made with 100 percent Pinot Noir, we were initially a little sceptical (given the number of below average rosés made with this popular variety). We couldn't have been more wrong and as fans of all things Provence, and especially their wines, we were more than a little surprised that we had come across a wine that competes so comprehensively on quality and pushes them aside on price.

On its own, with salads, seafood, chicken, light pasta and pizza dishes, snacks and aperifits and, to perfect it, a warm sunny day. That said, whatever the weather or occasion, this wine will not disappoint.
