Viura Wine

Viura is a white wine grape used mostly in the Rioja region of Spain. However, it also known as Macabeo, which is a grape used is France and Barcelona.

In the Rioja area, Viura accounts for over 80% of all white grapes grown and its wines are easily recognised from their straw colour and buttery mouth feel.

The grape is used to make young white wines suitable for early consumption or blending with other varieties, both red and white. Some Reserva and Gran Reserva white Rioja are aged for times that can span decades, resulting in a highly distinctive and aromatic wine.
