Malvasia Wines

Malvasia are a group of green-skinned grape varieties believed to have originated in Greece, and are used predominantly in Greece and Italy to produce white wines, although many other countries also grow the grape, but in far lower volumes.

The Malvasia grape are frequently used alongside other grape varieties in blended wines to add autumn fruits and a sweet bouquet.

When drinking Malvasia wines look for flavours such as ripe pear, citrus, peach or honey with aromas of tropical fruits. You can expect the wine to be light, crisp, low acidity and very low tannin levels.
