Tasting Notes
This wine is a pale gold in colour, which deepens slightly with age. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with stone fruits and confit lemon evident mingled with buttery, toasted nuts and a lovely textured finish.
About
The Clair family's pedigree was already well-established when Bruno Clair founded his own winery in 1979. With nine appellations now to his name, we can also enjoy great names such as Vosne Romanée, Aloxe Corton, Gevrey Chambertin, Morey Saint Denis and, of course Red and White Marsannays. He also makes a cracking Rosé Marsannay, though sadly, we don't have access to this.
Ideal with...
This wine is fabulous on its own and will pair with most creamy dishes and traditional white meat roasts. With turkey, it is sublime and it elevates creamy pasta dishes to a new level. We also like it with French cheeses such as Morbier, Tomme de Montage and (best of all) aged Comté.
