Tasting Notes
The Semillon grape is known for its citrus flavours and elements of fig that portray a slight wild honeyed style. This wine is unoaked and shows a great zesty style of lemons and limes in the flavours, delivering a really clean, positive wine with a lasting finish and racy acidity. Dry, clean, crisp and full of flavours this is really a most enjoyable glass.
About
Peter Lehmann set up his winery in the Barossa in 1979, driven by a desire to help struggling producers at a time when overproduction was a major problem across Australia. His venture was something of a gamble, but it paid off handsomely, resulting in the incredible range and reputation of his wines around the World today.
We first tried the Semillon at the kitchen table in Peter and Margaret's home in the grounds of the winery. In Peter's words, 'even my wine-maker doesn't realise just how good this wine is and he made it'.

This Semillon Blanc has loads of racy crisp acidity so goes well with seafood, chicken, light meat salad dishes and some soft cheeses too. It works very well too with lightly spiced sauces and most Thai food.
