During the 1970's the wine growers of the Barossa Valley faced a crisis caused by excess grapes and plummeting prices. In stepped Peter Lehmann who, with a loan, started a small winery called Masterson of the Barossa, in a nod to the famous gambler, Skye Masterson from the musical, Guys and Dolls.
From this point onwards, the Barossa community, under the lead of Peter Lehmann, have produced exceptional wines from the best grapes across the Barossa Valley, and arguably the finest grapes in Australia
