Semillon Wine

Semillon is a white wine grape that originated in the Bordeaux region of France. It is believed to have been cultivated since the 18th century and has since spread to various parts of the world. The grape is known for its versatility and ability to thrive in different climates and soil types.

Semillon wines are typically pale yellow in colour and have a medium to full body. They are known for a unique taste profile which often includes notes of lemon, honey, and sometimes a hint of lanolin. The wine can be produced in different styles, ranging from dry to sweet, depending on the winemaker's preference.

Some of the best areas for growing Semillon grapes include the Hunter Valley in Australia, where it is considered a signature variety, as well as regions in South Africa, California, and Chile.
