Hatozaki Whisky is produced by the Kaikyō Distillery in Japan, a producer known for combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative maturation techniques. The brand is named after the historic Hatozaki Lighthouse, one of Japan’s oldest stone lighthouses.
This Umeshu Finish expression is matured in oak before receiving a finishing period in casks that previously held Japanese umeshu, a traditional plum liqueur. The finishing process imparts elegant fruit notes and subtle sweetness while preserving the whisky’s smooth, balanced character.
Serving suggestion: Best enjoyed neat or with a small splash of water to reveal its fruit-forward complexity. Also works beautifully as an after-dinner dram alongside fruit desserts or light pastries.
