  • A richer, fuller style of white wine that pairs well with bigger flavoured fish and white meat dishes.
  • Made with Viognier, the white grape variety which excels in this hot region in France.
  • A Condrieu style wine at a fraction of the price of its posh counterpart.
  • From one of the best wine producers in the Rhône, Jaboulet, whose fine wines are legendary (and amongst the most expensive in the world).

Brief Description

Tasting Notes

There's a lot going on with this classy white. It's soft and peachy with an indulgent, yet fresh and lively palate and finish that goes on and on.

About

If you mention Jaboulet to any wine aficionado, they will salivate and little wonder - this winery is an icon in the Rhône valley (and mention Nicolas Jaboulet and my wife will salivate for different reasons!) From their monumental caves used to store and age their best wines (and which were requisitioned by the Germans in the 2nd World War to manufacture aircraft), to the steep slopes on which the grapes for their legendary Hermitage are grown, this winery is exceptional.

The Viognier is made from carefully selected grapes and is vinified in stainless steel vats to retail its purity, opulence and freshness.

Ideal with...

Because it's a fairly big wine, this delicious white pairs well with fuller flavours including curries and chinese food. On its own, it is an indulgent glass and with meaty fish, bouillabaisse and lemon chicken, it is excellent.
