Rhone Valley Wine, France

The Rhone Valley is situated in the southeastern part of France, and is divided into two regions: the Northern Rhone and the Southern Rhone.

Each region of the Rhone Valley has its own unique terroir, which contributes to the diverse range of wines produced here.

The wines from the Northern Rhone are known for their elegance and complexity, with Syrah being the dominant grape variety. These wines exhibit intense flavours of black fruits, black pepper, and violet.

On the other hand, the wines from the Southern Rhone are more full-bodied and fruit-forward, with Grenache being the primary grape variety used. These wines often display rich notes of red berries, herbs, and spices.

Popular wine types from the Rhone Valley include Hermitage, Cote-Rotie, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and Gigondas.
