San Marzano Primitivo il Pumo features the Puglia region's signature grape variety, Primitivo. Opening with intense aromas of plums and spices, which lead to a very approachable palate showing sweet cherries and damsons with touches of herbs de Provence and vanilla. The finish is warm, rich and fruity.
Fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, which retains all of the Primitivo's natural clean fruit vibrancy and freshness.

San Marzano was established in 1962 when 19 farmers, growers and wine-makers decided to pool their resources to create 'Cantine San Marzano'. Today, there are more than 1,200 growers contributing to its success and in 2021, it was awarded the Cooperative Winery of the Year Award by Gambero Rosso.
The vines for Il Pumo Primitivo lie at about 100 metres above sea level where average temperatures are high and rainfall low. This results in high quality, aromatic grapes which don't require any ageing in oak barrels to make this vibrant, fruit-driven wine.
