About
El Coto de Rioja was founded in 1970 and has become one of Spain’s best-known Rioja producers. The winery combines modern winemaking techniques with Rioja tradition to create approachable, high-quality wines with strong regional character.
Winemaking: Grapes are harvested during the cooler hours of the day and gently pressed before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. This preserves the wine’s vibrant fruit character, freshness and aromatic purity.
Vineyards: The vineyards are located across Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, where a combination of Atlantic influence, limestone-clay soils and elevated vineyard sites helps maintain freshness and aromatic complexity in the grapes.
