Montes Malbec is a deep purple colour, has classic black fruit and peppery spice on the nose which flows onto the palate with flavours of blueberry fruit, chocolate and subtle vanilla notes.

About

Well balanced Colchagua Valley Chilean Malbec. The grapes come from the Apalta and El Arcángel de Marchigüe estates in the Colchagua Valley, which is renowned for making excellent red wines, and Malbec in particular.

It's not so common to see a Malbec from the western side of the Andes, but this example from the excellent Viña Montes is a worthy peer to it's Argentinian colleagues. The vines used to grow the fruit are close on 100 years old.
