Luis Canas Rioja Crianza is a well balanced ripe fruity Rioja with 12 months oak ageing providing it a good level of complexity and a gently sweet vanilla finish.
It has aromas of balsamic and fine nuances of plum and clean oak with intense spice and layers of velvety cherry fruit with a slight hint of licquorice.
With a satisfying finish of fruits and rounded tannins, it is well structured.
About
The grapes for this Rioja are de-stemmed and crushed before undergoing fermentation. Maceration takes place in stainless steel tanks for a total of 8 days, providing good colour extraction as well as much more complex wines, suitable for prolonged aging.
The wine is clarified and filtered before being placed in barrels where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged for a minimum of 12 months. It is then bottled for at least another 12 months before release.
