Riesling from Baden, the German side of the Rhine basin, recognized for its Grand Cru wines
Mirabelle and orange blossom dominate the nose. Taut palate displays mineral structure, roundness and a superb, long finish.
The steeply-sloping plots of Riesling Via Saint-Jacques are located in the communes of Reichsfeld and Bernardvillé. The grapes are therefore from a terroir of blue schist which is unique in Alsace and dates from the Precambrian

Tasting Notes

Fruity and Floral on the nose, citrus, mirabelle-plum and orange blossom all shine through. It has a taut, mineral structure, lovely roundness and is fresh with a very long finish.

About

Vineyards: Riesling grapes grown on Granitic and arkose sandy soil with a Granitic subsoil. Harvest is by hand with sorting of the grapes.

Winemaking: Direct pressing without destemming (pneumatic press). Cold static settling followed by fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel vats (16-20°C). Maturing In stainless steel vats on the fine lees for 12 months
