Tasting Notes
Bertani Lugana is a pale yellow colour with a hint of green highlights. On the nose it brings fruity overtones of blanched white pear and peach, with soft honey and gentle floral notes.
This flows onto the palate, bringing forward a citrusy lemon freshness perfectly balancing tanginess and acidity. The finish is quite complex as mineral notes meld into the flavours giving elegant length.
About
With vineyards and winemaking overseen by Andreas Lonardi, Bertani have long been renowned for their top-class wines.
The wine is made 100% from the Trebbiano grape, which is a native Italian grape and is one of the most planted grape varieties in the world, although most often blended with other grapes.
To create this wine, the grapes are harvested at the end of September. The grapes are gently crushed and fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a temperature of 14° to 16°C.
Ageing in steel containers on the lees at the end of fermentation for three months, with periodic stirring of the settled lees.
Ideal with...
Seafood antipasti, fried freshwater or ocean fish, boiled shrimp, and lake fish. One of the best fish wines around.
