We met Martino Biscardo at his home in Soave and since then, have been mightily impressed with his family's wines. A family business for more than 150 years, they have a superb range which includes Proseccos, a selection of fine and everyday reds (with superb Primitivo, Negroamaro and Valpolicella) and this Pinot Grigio. A respected oenologist, Martino's brother, Maurizio, has consulted for many well-known wineries across Italy. Perhaps their best-known character trait throughout their wines is their purity and honest reflection of the grape variety,
One of the most famous grape varieties and wines, Pinot Grigio (know as Pinot Gris in other countries) is synonymous of Italy. The Uvam Pinot Grigio comes from younger vines, 10 - 15 years old, grown on a flat, chalky plain. This gives the wine great freshness and an elegant minerality which combine to deliver the underlying foundation of this lovely wine.
