Baron de Badassiere Viognier is lighter and cleaner than some Viogniers with wonderful balanced acidity and fruit. With delicate aromas of almonds and honey, the palate is predominantly tropical fruit. It is a really good example of the grape variety at its purest and if you haven't tried Viognier before, try this one. If, like many others, you become a fan, you'll be able to explore a plethora of delicious and completely different wines made with Viognier.
About
Viognier is usually associated with white Rhone wines and is more viscous than other grape varieties, oozing its own unique characteristics with tropical fruits dominating including mangos, lychees and, in younger vintages, kiwi fruit.
Baron de Badassiere Viognier is made further west in the Languedoc (just south of Montpellier). Left on the skins for a few hours and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, with no oak used in the vinification, it is a clean, pure and refreshing wine.
