Tasting Notes
So much thought has gone into creating this wine with each Varietal bringing something special to the taste. The Shiraz, full of fresh fruit and depth. The Tempranillo brings a firmness and broadens the flavours, whilst the Mourvedre shows real depth of character. Finally the Grenache delivers a great spiciness and softens this complex wine into a very enjoyable complete glass that is a pleasure to drink.
About
Peter Lehmann learnt his business in the Barossa Valley by getting to know the local growers and manufacturers. Step by step he built up a series of ranges aimed at delivering the best this area could provide across a range of styles and achieved some notoriety when he suggested 'how boring it must be getting up every day knowing that all you're ever going to make is Chateau Lafite Rothschild'!
In the Layers range, wine-maker Andrew Wigan has combined the skill of blending varietals to bring out the best features of each grape and deliver quality and affordable wines. The red is not dissimilar to some Rhone wines and appeals to lovers of new and old world wines alike.

This soft aromatic wine has loads of character and is great to enjoy on its own but even better with food particularly red meats, pasta and cheese. Serve just above cellar temperature.
