Merchant Tip: I've found Emblema impressively smooth and powerfully fruited, although not quite as rounded as some of our other popular Malbecs. There's a noticeable combination of tannin and acidity towards the finish, which gives it a little more definition than you might expect from its smooth opening. A good choice if you enjoy generous fruit but still want some structure.

Séptima Emblema Malbec comes from vineyards in Agrelo, within Mendoza's Luján de Cuyo region. Situated approximately 1,050 metres above sea level, the vineyards benefit from abundant sunshine and cooler nighttime temperatures, helping the grapes develop generous fruit flavours while retaining the acidity needed for balance.
Careful grape selection and temperature-controlled fermentation help preserve the wine's ripe plum, cherry and blackberry character. The emphasis is on expressing the generous fruit associated with Mendoza Malbec while maintaining freshness and an approachable texture.
The wine is matured predominantly in stainless steel, with a small proportion spending time in previously used French and American oak barrels. This restrained use of oak supports the fruit rather than introducing pronounced vanilla or toasted flavours, allowing the wine's natural tannins and acidity to contribute to its structure.
Séptima Emblema is particularly well suited to grilled and roasted meats. Its generous fruit complements beef burgers, steak, lamb chops and barbecued sausages, while the noticeable tannins and acidity help balance richer dishes.
It also works well with tomato-based pasta sauces, meatballs, hearty casseroles and mature cheeses. The combination of smooth fruit and a structured finish makes it a versatile choice for everyday meals.
Serve at approximately 16–18°C. Allowing the wine a little time in the glass can help its fruit aromas develop.
