Distillery
Founded in 1898 in the heart of Perthshire, Aberfeldy Distillery has built its reputation on producing smooth, honeyed Highland single malt whisky using water drawn from the famous Pitilie Burn. Production
After spending fifteen years maturing in traditional oak casks, the whisky receives a finishing period in carefully selected casks that previously held prestigious Pomerol wine. Produced in one of Bordeaux's most celebrated wine regions, these casks contribute subtle notes of dark berry fruit, gentle tannins and refined spice while preserving the delicate honey and orchard fruit notes that define Aberfeldy.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Fragrant aromas of honey, heather, ripe blackberry, plum compote and soft vanilla are joined by hints of toasted oak, milk chocolate and delicate baking spices.
Palate: Smooth and beautifully rounded with layers of runny honey, caramelised apples, black cherries and damsons complemented by cinnamon, nutmeg and silky oak tannins from the Pomerol casks.
Finish: Long, warming and refined, leaving lingering notes of dark fruits, gentle spice, cocoa and the signature honeyed sweetness that defines Aberfeldy.
