About

Altos Las Hormigas is a highly regarded Argentine winery known for redefining Malbec through a terroir-focused approach. Working closely with soils expert Pedro Parra and winemaker Alberto Antonini, the estate focuses on expressing the individuality of Mendoza’s vineyard sites rather than producing heavy, oak-driven styles.

Winemaking: Hand-harvested organic Malbec grapes are fermented using native yeasts in small concrete tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, most of the wine is aged in concrete with a portion matured in large untoasted oak foudres, preserving purity of fruit while adding subtle complexity.

Vineyards: The grapes are sourced from two certified organic vineyard plots in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. The soils are dominated by limestone with very little clay, encouraging deep root growth and producing wines with natural freshness, structure and a distinctive mineral character.
