This is an elegant, well structured wine that time has worked its magic on, and is now eminently satisfying, and totally and deliciously drinkable.
The nose of San Polino's Brunello Di Montalcino has dark fruit, with plums, blackcurrant, tobacco, spices, with hints of black pepper, liquorice, then violet, and orange zest. This follows to the palate which has clear, earthy minerality and flint, fruity freshness and full yet unbelievably smooth tannins with a long, long finish.
The wine undergoes fermentation for almost 3 months and a further 5 years ageing in Slovakian and French large oak casks before being bottling by hand in the winery.
