Tasting Notes
A dry, elegant and refreshing rosé with aromas of white peach layered with floral notes, mineral nuances and white pepper. Delicious red fruits on the palate lead to a crisp and uplifting finish.
About
Made from Syrah 50%, Grenache 30%, and Cinsault 20%.
Viticulture: The vines are planted in distinctive plots at altitudes ranging from 340 metres' elevation up to 640 metres above sea level in the ‘les Brunets’ vineyard. The vines benefit from good sun exposure, tempered by the cooling effects of the altitude, which imparts a naturally refreshing character to the wine. 80% of the vines are planted with a northfacing orientation on clay, limestone soils. The remaining 20% of the vineyards are south-facing, maximising sun exposure and are planted in the distinctive pink marble soil. This combination of terroirs gives Grand Boise its freshness, tension and depth.
Winemaking: This rosé cuvée was produced by directly pressing the grapes, allowing the colour from the skins to tint the juice with this delicate blush colour. Fermentation took place with indigenous yeasts, which help to retain the character of the plot, in temperature controlled stainless steel and concrete tanks to retain the purity of fruit. Sulphur was not added during vinification to preserve the maximum aromas; only minimal levels of sulphur were added at bottling.
