Tasting Notes

Bodegas Luis Cañas is a family-owned winery in Rioja Alavesa known for producing high-quality, terroir-driven wines from old vines. The Selección de la Familia label represents the estate’s finest vineyard parcels and most carefully crafted Rioja Reserva wines.
Winemaking: Grapes are hand-harvested from old-vine plots and rigorously selected before fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks. The wine is then aged in premium French and American oak barrels, followed by extended bottle ageing to enhance harmony, complexity and finesse.
Vineyards: The vineyards are located in Rioja Alavesa on limestone-clay soils at moderate elevation. These conditions, combined with old vines and a cool Atlantic influence, produce concentrated fruit with freshness, structure and aromatic precision.
