Tasting Notes

Ramon Bilbao Limite Sur Rioja is a deep ruby-red, with a high depth of colour, clear, bright and tears on the glass.

Intense and complex, with notes of fresh red-berried fruit, blossom, pink pepper and herbal nuances. Fresh with good acidity and pleasant tannin.

A balanced, harmonious wine with a long finish.

About

The vineyards were planted in 1977 and 2014 and are situated in the highest part of the eastern tip of La Rioja at an altitude of 500-600m.

They are North facing with a continental-Atlantic climate. Petrocalcic origin, glacis, gravel, sand and loam defines the vineyard soil structure.

Pre fermentative maceration is performed to preserve the floral aromas and colour extraction. Fermentation then follows in concrete (with a percentage of stems to bring freshness and tannins) at 24ºC.

The wine is aged in different materials (amphora, 600-litre barrels and concrete) before being blended and aged in French 225 litre barriques for 10 months.
