Tasting Notes
Goats Do Roam white wine blend has aromas of white blossom along with a little fruity hint of apricots, peaches and apple which are noticeable as you pour a glass.
It sits in the glass with a bright and vibrant lemon colour which gives the refreshing and lively palate you'd expect.
The wine is medium bodied with citrus fruits on the palate leading to a nicely acidic finish.
About
This blended white is made from four grapes three of which are from their own vineyards based at the foothills of the Paarl mountains in the Western Cape of South Africa. The other from the Darling region.
The blend consists of 36% Viognier, 32% Grenache Blanc, 26% Roussanne and 6% Marsanne.
The grapes were picked between 22 and 23.5° Brix. The fruit was then destalked and crushed and then gently pressed.
Only free-run juice was used and the vineyard parcels were kept separate. The juice was cold fermented in stainless-steel tanks and the individual components were left on their lees prior to blending and bottling.
