Tasting Notes
Aromas of rose petals and star anise lead to a ripe, medium-bodied palate showing dark plums and cherries with light spicy notes. This is a clean, fruity red which has enough body and acidity to allow it to comfortably cellar for around five years.

The Hancock & Hancock range was created by Chris Hancock. A member of the team at Robert Oatley since 1976, his aim is to create more interesting wines combining the classic grape varieties of the region with new varieties and different 'terriors' that add a modern twist.
The grapes for this wine come from three different parts of the vineyard, each with different soil types. This adds enormously to the character and complexity of the wine. The grapes are harvested when fully ripe and are thoroughly mixed during fermentation to extract the maximum flavours from the skins and pulp (as well as the juice of course). With each parcel fermented separately, the process continues in stainless steel tanks before transfering to a range of different barrels. Only when each parcel is ready are they mixed to create the final blend.
