Tasting Notes
Pale straw with a typical sauvignon nose of cut grass and hay. The palate is clean, fresh with tropical fruits such as passionfruit, lychees and gooseberries that offer a lovely light acidity.
About
Perhaps the most iconic of the wine producers in the Barossa, d'Arenberg gained an enviable reputation by their quirky wines names and, of course, outstanding wines. The name Stump Jump comes from the eucalyptus roots which littered the vineyards and where so hard that the till just jumped over the stumps that couldn't be removed.
The Stump Jump Sauvignon Blanc is made from the slightly cooler McLaren Vale and are gently basket pressed before being vinified in stainless steel vats.
Ideal with...
Fuller-bodied than other sauvignon blancs, it can be enjoyed on its own and with seafood. Scallops with chorizo or celeriac puree work particularly well, as do prawns cooked with garlic and chilly (Gambas Pil-Pil).
