Tasting Notes
The Stump Jump Shiraz is a powerful yet friendly Shiraz, all spice and dark chocolate on the nose with cherries, blackberries and flowers in the mouth.
About
From the McLaren Vale region in South Australia, the grapes used in this wine are from very old bush vines.
The Stump Jump gets its name from the plough invented to 'jump' over tree roots while in use. The inventor was rumoured to have poor eyesight, and if you could read the label of the bottle at arms length, you were capable of operating the plough!
The grapes used in this wine underwent gentle crushing, food treading and traditional open tank fermentation.
The juice was basket pressed and aged in a mixture of stainless steel, large wooden vats and oak barriques prior to bottling
