d’Arenberg is a historic family-owned winery based in McLaren Vale, founded in 1912. Known for its distinctive wines and innovative winemaking approach, the estate produces expressive, characterful wines that reflect the region’s Mediterranean climate and diverse soils.
Winemaking: Grapes are hand-picked and fermented in small batches using traditional open fermenters. Gentle extraction methods are used to preserve fruit purity. The wine is matured in a combination of stainless steel and seasoned oak to maintain freshness and balance without heavy oak influence.
Vineyards: Sourced from McLaren Vale vineyards, where warm days and cooling sea breezes allow grapes to ripen fully while retaining acidity. The region’s varied soils, including clay and limestone, contribute structure and depth to the wine.
