Iona's very stylish Chardonnay, showing many traits of Burgundy Chablis, with bright citrus, white stone fruit, oyster shell minerality and a hint of brioche. The purity of fruit combined with well-judged oak and bright fresh acidity result in a wine that is layered and complex with a lingering finish.
Iona's Elgin Valley vineyards are in the western cape region of South Africa, a rare cool climate allowing for more elegant, fresh and complex flavours than normally found in the region.
The wine is aged in French oak for 11 months, it is also fined and stabilised naturally for 3 months prior to bottling.
