Redcurrants and raspberries on the nose lead to a fuller palate showing more dark fruits, such as cherries and blackberries. There are also subtle sweet spices and a toastiness which balances the soft acidity and compliments the fruit nicely.

From it's humble beginnings in a small cottage in Auckland, Kim Crawford has gained huge acclaim in the wine world. Their success in in no small part due to their unconventional approach and the risks taken in their strives to create unique, affordable and appealing wines.
The Pinot Noir is blended with fruit from different plots on the south island. Pinot Noir has hundred of different clones (there are more than 50 in France alone), each with different characteristics. With different micro-climates, soil types and clones, Kim Crawford are able to craft their own distinctive style of Pinot Noir and for that matter, Sauvignon Blancs.
Ideal with...
As with most New World Pinot Noirs, this is a fruit driven red which works well with slightly bigger flavours such as carbonara, pork, rabbit and lighter red meats. It's also good with nut-based vegetarian dishes, mushroom risotto, rye bread and soft cheeses.
