With flashes of lemon, Monrouby Grenache Blanc has a lovely depth of flavour and pleasant aromas, which show white peaches, apricots and melons. It is quite a savoury wine so works well with and without food.
About
Monrouby is a small area or 'lieu dit' just north of Pomérols in Southern France. It is here that the grapes for this wine, which is made by one of the most important co-operatives of the region, are grown.
Often used for blending with other grape varieties (including Châteauneuf-du-Pape), Grenache is one of the most widely planted grapes in the world and in France, Grenache Blanc is the fourth most planted white grape variety. Monrouby Grenache Blanc is unoaked which, combined with the fresh sea breezes (the vines are less than 3 kilometers from the coast), ensures a clean, fresh wine each vintage.
