We have two fresh, unoaked whites from Produttori di Manduria, but they offer quite different drinking experiences.
If crispness and refreshment matter most, Produttori di Manduria Alice Verdeca is where we'd start. It is dry, fresh and mineral, with citrus, white flowers and a lightly saline character.
If you still want freshness but would prefer more fruit, texture and substance, Produttori di Manduria Zin Fiano is the better direction. Ripe apple and pear, floral character and a savoury, saline edge give it more weight and personality without introducing oak or heaviness.
Produttori di Manduria Acid Crab Negroamaro is the clear choice. Juicy black cherry and blackberry are joined by savoury herbs, liquorice and pepper, while the absence of oak keeps the wine fresh and allows the character of Negroamaro to come through. Choose it when you want a characterful Puglian red without lots of weight or richness.
Our two Primitivo di Manduria Riservas both offer richness and maturity, but the difference between them is important.
Produttori di Manduria Elegia Primitivo di Manduria Riserva is where we'd start if you're looking for generous ripe fruit, richness and the developed character of mature Primitivo.
If you want to take Primitivo into a more serious, structured direction, Produttori di Manduria Sonetto Primitivo di Manduria Riserva is our choice. Old vines, concentration and extended oak ageing bring greater structure, complexity and savoury character alongside its ripe blackberry, plum and fig fruit.
Both are substantial Primitivo Riservas, but the choice isn't simply about spending more: choose Elegia when rich, mature Primitivo is the attraction, and Sonetto when you particularly want old-vine concentration, structure and complexity.
Produttori di Manduria Aka Charme Rosato Spumante Brut takes Primitivo in a completely different direction. Fine bubbles, delicate red berries and rose, lively freshness and subtle lees character make it our choice when you want something sparkling, refreshing and celebratory while still exploring one of Puglia's signature grapes.
