Plymouth Gin

Plymouth Gin began distilling in 1773 on the Barbican site of Plymouth where it remains to this day, although it is popularly referred to as the "Black Friars Distillery" due to its reputation as the site of a monastery.

Plymouth gin is considered a 'gin type' in the same way as London Dry gin is considered a gin type. The difference being, this is the sole site able to make and sell a Plymouth Gin.

It remains to this day a popular cocktail gin due to its lower emphasis on Juniper and also being slightly less dry than a London Dry gin.
