Chenin Blanc Wine

Chenin blanc is a French white wine grape variety from the Loire Valley region, which is now very popular in the new world countries like South Africa which is the largest producer.

Its history in France dates back to the 9th century and somewhere around 1840 it was brought to South Africa by the French from which it spread to other countries.

Chenin Blanc is a versatile grape producing very dry to semi dry white wines. Most popular are the very dry wines which show high acidity and a fuller body, with aromas of yellow apple, pear, quince, and hay with quince, yellow apple, plum, ginger, and floral notes showing on the palate.
