Babic Wine

Babic is a wine grape variety that is native to Croatia, particularly the region of Dalmatia. It has a long history, dating back several centuries, and is considered one of the oldest grape varieties in the country.

The taste profile of Babic wine is characterized by its rich, full-bodied nature and deep red colour. It has bold flavours of dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums, with hints of spice and earthiness. The wine is often described as robust and velvety, with a good balance of acidity and tannins. It pairs well with hearty dishes like grilled meats and stews, making it a popular choice among wine enthusiasts.

While Babic can be grown in various parts of Croatia, there are certain areas that are considered to produce the best quality wines from this grape. The coastal region of Northern Dalmatia, particularly around the towns of Primosten and Šibenik, isbest  known for its Babic vineyards.
