Tasting Notes
Deep opaque with an elegant nose of forest fruit with hints of mint and eucalyptus, the palate is rich with red fruits, raisins and supple, slightly peppery tannins balanced with soft acidity and minerality. The finish is long and full.
About
Founded in 1820, W & J Graham's has been a family business for nearly 200 years and is now one of a number of recognised wine brands owned by the Symington family. This was pioneered by Glasgow born Andrew James Symington who went to work at Graham's in 1882 and in 1905 became a partner in Warre's (the oldest Port house) before becoming its sole owner in 1908. It took a further 62 years for the family to aquire Graham's though with with James' three sons, the family quickly established themselves as the leading force in the Port world. Today, they are the most influencial family with Cockburn's and Dow's quintas now also included in their portfolio.
Graham's most popular selling port, the Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) is only made from the finest production of very good years. Unlike Vintage Port which spends two years in casks and then matures in the bottle, the LBV spends a further two to four years in cask and is then bottled. Ageing in this way encourages the wine to develop sooner than with Vintage Ports, meaning it is ready for drinking when it is bottled. It also doesn't throw a sediment so won't need decanting.

Great with hard cheeses such as Cheddar, Cheshire and Lancashire. It also works extremely well with with goat's cheese. For those with a sweet tooth, it is the perfect match for full, fruity desserts, fruit cake and chocolate.
