Domaine de Chazalis Dernier Vendange

Dernier Vendange

Sorry!

This Item is Currently Unavailable

A delicious lighter style of dessert or aperitif wine from this small family winery in Southern France. Lighter than a Muscat or Sauternes and very refreshing.

Brief Description

Tasting Notes

A light nose of dessert apples is followed by sweet pineapple and pear drop flavours with a crisp, light acidity. A lovely unctuous mouth-feel, which comes from the more viscous Viognier, leaves you with a light sweet coating on the palate.

About

Domaine de Chazalis is a fabulous winery in the Ardeche. Unpretentious and charming people, with a serious enthusiasm and skill for their 'metier', it is no wonder that their wines show so well.

Dernier Vendange or 'Last Picking' is a relatively new wine for the Champetier family. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier, it is made from the sweeter late-harvested fruits and vinified without the use of oak. It is akin to a Muscat, though perhaps slightly lighter than some.

Ideal with...

As a dessert wine, it works well with creme brulee, panna cotta and ice cream. As an aperitif, it is a lighter alternative to sherry. Serve well-chilled.
