Tasting Notes
The Cabernet Sauvignon from Paul Hobbs is a wonderfully balanced, big American red, very much of the style one has come to expect of Paul Hobbs, but with plenty of fruit-driven finesse, intensity and structure through to the long, opulent finish. Having worked with Mouton Rothschild and as the wine-maker behind Opus One, Paul Hobbs has crafted a very similar style and standard of wine.
About
From the taste of his first wine (a 1962 Chateau d'Yquem belonging to his father) to the opening of his own winery and the remarkable award of 100 points from Robert Parker for his Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard 2002 in The Wine Advocate, Paul Hobbs has lead a clear path through the world of wine and winemaking, creating his own incredible history as he goes.
This history now extends to other areas of the world, such as Chile, where Paul Hobbs' influence is being felt at Vina Cobos in Argentina.
