Felino Malbec is produced by Viña Cobos, the Mendoza winery founded by Paul Hobbs in 1999. The Felino range was created to express the natural character of Argentina's leading grape varieties through wines that combine generous fruit with freshness and balance.
The grapes come from selected vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley, two important wine-growing regions of Mendoza. Their high-altitude growing conditions, sunny days and cooler nights help develop ripe fruit flavours while preserving the acidity that gives the finished wine its lively character.
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks to preserve the wine's expressive fruit. Depending on the vintage, a relatively small proportion receives new French-oak maturation, adding subtle complexity without making oak the defining feature.
The result is a Malbec with generous plum and blueberry flavours, aromatic freshness and an approachable but well-defined structure.
