Ferrari Perlé is a vintage Blanc de Blancs Trentodoc made entirely from Chardonnay grown in the mountain vineyards of Trentino. Fine, persistent bubbles carry grapefruit, pineapple, peach and apple, with delicate honey, sponge cake and floral notes adding complexity to its fresh, elegant character.
Extended ageing on the lees brings depth and refinement while retaining the tension and freshness of mountain-grown Chardonnay. This is a serious Italian traditional-method sparkling wine with enough complexity for the table as well as celebrations — an excellent choice for anyone wanting to explore premium sparkling wine beyond Champagne without sacrificing elegance or finesse.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Elegant and complex with grapefruit and fresh citrus alongside pineapple, peach and apple. Delicate honey, sponge cake, yellow flowers and gentle spice develop behind the fruit.
Palate: Fresh, precise and beautifully balanced, combining ripe orchard and summer fruit with lively acidity and a fine, persistent stream of bubbles. Extended lees ageing adds richness and complexity without sacrificing the wine's freshness and tension.
Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering fresh fruit, delicate pastry notes and fine, persistent freshness.
About
Ferrari Trento was founded by Giulio Ferrari in 1902 and became a pioneer of traditional-method sparkling wine in Trentino. Today the estate remains synonymous with premium Trentodoc, using mountain-grown grapes and extended bottle ageing to create sparkling wines combining freshness, elegance and complexity.
Ferrari Perlé is the house's vintage Blanc de Blancs and has been produced since 1971. Made entirely from Chardonnay selected from some of Trentino's most suitable mountain vineyards, it combines fine bubbles and vibrant fruit with the greater complexity created by prolonged ageing on the lees. The result is a serious sparkling wine that remains remarkably versatile at the table.
Winemaking: Carefully selected Chardonnay grapes are harvested entirely by hand and vinified in stainless steel. Secondary fermentation takes place in bottle using the traditional method, followed by extended maturation on the lees. This prolonged ageing develops the wine's fine bubbles, texture and subtle pastry complexity while retaining the freshness of the Chardonnay.
Vineyards: The Chardonnay is selected from mountain vineyards in the areas of Trentino particularly suited to the production of Trentodoc. The elevated growing conditions help preserve acidity and aromatic freshness, providing the balance and tension required for long lees ageing.
Food Pairing: Excellent as an aperitif but sufficiently complex to accompany an entire meal. Particularly good with oysters and shellfish, sushi and sashimi, smoked fish, grilled seafood, risotto, lighter pasta dishes or delicate white meats.
