Grant Burge Barossa Ink Shiraz is an unapologetically rich, full-bodied Barossa red, packed with ripe blackberry, plum and raspberry alongside dark chocolate, mocha and warming spice. Dense colour and generous fruit give it plenty of impact, while fine, velvety tannins provide structure and keep the wine impressively smooth.
This is a Shiraz for someone who actively wants the bold, opulent side of the Barossa rather than a restrained Australian red. Its combination of concentrated dark fruit, chocolatey richness and spice makes it immediately satisfying, particularly alongside grilled or roasted meat, while sufficient structure keeps all that intensity nicely balanced.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich and intense with blackberry, ripe plum and raspberry, accompanied by dark chocolate, mocha and warming spice.

Grant Burge is a long-established Barossa producer with deep family roots in South Australian wine. Barossa Ink was created to showcase the particularly intense and generous character that Shiraz can achieve in the region, producing a wine notable for its deep colour, concentrated fruit and rich texture.
This is deliberately not a restrained style of Shiraz. Blackberry, plum and raspberry provide an abundance of ripe fruit, with darker chocolate, liquorice and spice adding complexity. Importantly, fine tannins provide enough structure to balance that richness, resulting in a wine that is powerful and opulent but also smooth and immediately appealing.
Winemaking: The winemaking focuses on preserving the intensity and concentration of ripe Barossa Shiraz, with oak contributing mocha, chocolate and spice alongside the wine's generous dark fruit. The finished style combines substantial flavour and texture with fine, smooth tannins.
Vineyards: The Shiraz is sourced from the Barossa, one of Australia's most celebrated regions for the variety. Its warm growing conditions encourage deep colour and concentrated ripe fruit, providing the powerful raw material behind Barossa Ink's deliberately bold style.
Food Pairing: Ideally suited to equally full-flavoured food. Pair with flame-grilled steak, barbecued beef, roast lamb, slow-cooked meats or game. Its combination of ripe fruit, chocolate and spice also works particularly well with smoky barbecue sauces and mature hard cheeses.
