El Coto “Cota de Imaz” Rioja Reserva is a premium expression of Rioja Reserva from one of the region’s most established producers. Made primarily from Tempranillo, it delivers ripe cherry, plum and blackberry flavours layered with vanilla, cedar and spice from oak ageing. Elegant, polished and well-structured, it is a refined Rioja with excellent balance and depth.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Expressive aromas of ripe cherry, plum and blackberry with notes of vanilla, sweet spice, cedar and subtle tobacco.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with smooth flavours of red and dark berries, cherry compote and plum. Silky tannins and fresh acidity support layers of vanilla, cocoa, spice and gentle oak complexity.
Finish: Long, smooth and elegant with lingering dark fruit, spice and soft toasted oak notes.

El Coto de Rioja is one of the largest and most respected wineries in Rioja, known for producing consistent, high-quality wines that reflect both tradition and modern winemaking. The “Cota de Imaz” range represents the estate’s more premium, oak-aged expressions.
Winemaking: Grapes are hand-selected from estate vineyards and fermented under controlled temperatures to preserve fruit purity. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, followed by extended bottle ageing to develop complexity, integration and smooth tannins.
Vineyards: Sourced primarily from Rioja Alta, where clay-limestone soils and a cooler Atlantic influence help produce elegant, structured Tempranillo with freshness, balance and ageing potential.
