About
Maison Chanzy is a distinguished family-owned estate based in Bouzeron, in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, committed to sustainable viticulture and quality white Burgundy. The “Les Fortunés” Bourgogne Chardonnay reflects the estate’s dedication to expressing terroir, purity of fruit and elegant winemaking.
Vineyards: The Chardonnay grapes for Maison Chanzy Bourgogne Chardonnay “Les Fortunés” are sourced from selected old-vine plots on clay-limestone soils in the Côte Chalonnaise—specifically at the foot of the famous “Clos de la Fortune” slope at Bouzeron and the neighbouring plateau of Nantoux. The mature vines, low yields and southeast / northwest exposures provide vibrant, terroir driven fruit.}
Winemaking: Grapes receive a slow, gentle whole bunch press, followed by fermentation partly in 350L oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine is then matured for about 10 months in barrels and five months in stainless steel vats before bottling, preserving freshness while adding subtle texture.]{index=2}
