Tasting Notes
Château Musar Jeune Red is a deep purple beetroot colour with a nose and palate of more red fruits than black; strawberries and cherries. Unoaked, with a savoury, earthy depth and a touch of spice and black pepper. It is an elegant wine with layers of taste and lots of potential to age and develop.
About
This vintage is a blend of Cinsault (50%), Syrah (35%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), selected from vineyards with varying ages of vines and soils. Of our reds this year, the Syrah was outstanding. “We’ve never before experienced a Syrah grape of such intensity and strength with an unforgettable imprint on the palate. Aromas of violet and mango were dominant through the fermentation process, this is a Syrah we won’t forget” Tarek Sakr November 2021
Viticulture: Musar Jeune red vines are from our organically certified vineyards in the western Bekaa Valley. The range of Muar Jeune wines which includes white and rosé, is produced from younger Bekaa Valley vines at 1,000 metres above sea level - unfettered by oak, and displaying classic Musar characteristics, these wines are best enjoyed in their youth.
Winemaking: The grapes were fermented in concrete vats with temperatures between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius. The wines were blended in March and then rested in the vats until being bottled during the summer. Musar Jeune Red is unfiltered and made according to our non-interventionist winemaking philosophy
