Pale, twinkling gold with aromas of freshly picked peaches and apricots, this is a medium-bodied white with delicious stone fruits and a racy acidity. The finish is long and quite full, with remnants of oatcakes and walnuts.

About

Donovan Rall's ambition was to join some of the legends and great winemakers he had worked with and learned from in his formative wine-making career. He is now regarded as one of the stars, albeit his production is relatively small-scale, with a focus on quality. With over 20 years under his belt, he is also known for his innovative wine making techniques and his wines are now some of the most sought after.

Grenache Blanc is a clone of the red Grenache grape variety. It usually delivers lovely herb (particularly dill) aromas and is great as a single variety wine as well as lending itself well to blending with fuller varieties such as Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier.

We tried this wine with grilled halloumi and courgettes in a lemon/lime and basil dressing and the match was superb. It would also pair with other lighter cheeses, grilled fish with a squeeze of lemon and more savoury vegetarian dishes.
