Tasting Notes
A deeply coloured Cabernet Sauvignon with pronounced aromas of blackcurrant, black cherries and subtle notes of coffee. Smooth and velvety, the tannins are beautifully integrated and envelop the spicy fruit through to a deliciously smoky finish.
About
Domaine des Pourthié is an estate covering 60 hectares, situated near Agde, a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea. It is now in the hands of the fourth generation of the Pourthié family, who cultivate the HVE Level 3 certified vines sustainably.
Viticulture: The grapes are grown in gravelly clay-limestone soils, which were formed during the Ice Age, and are dispersed with deposits from the ancient Hérault riverbed.
Winemaking: The grapes were macerated on the skins extracting flavour, aromas and fine tannins. Fermentation took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the fruity varietal characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon and lasted for two weeks.
